The Cambridge sports multiplex project, accused by critics of not having enough public discussion before choosing a final location, has opened up for public input through the city's website.

Cambridge residents can now voice their thoughts on the sports multiplex location, via a survey on engageCambridge.

The survey takes between five and fifteen minutes to complete and it asks residents to rate their level of agreement with a number of statements regarding the multiplex.

Kent McVittie, deputy city manager for community services, said the multiplex task force has identified about 20 possible locations, after receiving numerous suggestions from the community.

"Many of them may have to be screened out for various reasons, " he said. "If they're not large enough to accommodate the size of the facility and so on, so it's really early on in the process."

McVittie said he expects the multiplex construction to begin in 2018 and to be completed by 2019.
