Man charged for stabbing 2 bar patrons in Guelph

Guelph police have arrested a 20-year-old man in relation to a stabbing that happened in the city's downtown in November.

Guelph police say they've arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a stabbing that took place in a downtown bar last November.

Police say that in the early morning hours of Nov. 24, a man stabbed two other men before being evicted from the bar by security. Both victims were taken to Guelph General Hospital and treated for their injuries, police said.

Police say they identified the suspect and issued an arrest warrant on Jan. 29.

The man was found in Burlington and taken to Guelph to be processed, police say.

The Burlington man has been charged with: 

  • Two counts of assault with a weapon.
  • Two counts of "weapons dangerous."

He will appear in court on March 10, 2020.
