Kate's 5 fun things to do in and around Waterloo region: Nov. 8 to 10

This weekend, imbibe at the Tequila Expo, cheer on the Buffalo Bills at a tailgate party in Cambridge, head out to a local play or pick up some gifts at various artisan markets.

It will feel like a pretty normal November weekend, with a sunny high of 8 C on Saturday and 11 C with rain on Sunday.

Musician Séan McCann, formerly of Great Big Sea, will perform at Emmanuel United Church in Waterloo on Friday night.

Elmira Theatre Company is presenting Mark Crawford's comedy The Birds and the Bees, with shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Kitchener Rangers are home Friday night to face the Soo Greyhounds, but are on the road both Saturday (in Owen Sound) and Sunday (in Oshawa).

The Guelph Storm have two home games this weekend. Friday they host the Erie Otters and Sunday afternoon the London Knights are in town.

If you need to drive, here are some local gas prices:

Tequila Expo

Saturday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Bingemans, Kitchener

This one is pretty straightforward. The expo highlights tequila, other Agave spirits as well as food. There will be tastings, an artisan market and live music and performances. Tickets are required.

Bespoke Diwali Marketplace

Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ken Seiling Region of Waterloo Museum, Kitchener

This festival marks the festival of lights with vendors who will have various items including jewlery, fashion, home decor, food, signature teas, wellness products and more. There will also be a kids corner with treats and crafts, a photo booth and music.

Miss Scrooge

Friday 8 p.m., Saturday 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sunday 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Guelph Little Theatre

Penny and Pound Theatre in Guelph is kicking off the holiday season with Miss Scrooge, a take on the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Set in Depression-era New York City, the play follows a female Ebenezer Scrooge who is, of course, visited by three spirits.

The 8 p.m. show on Sunday is a pay-what-you-choose performance.

Buffalo Bills Tailgate

Sunday 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Gaslight District, Cambridge

The Buffalo Bills will face the Indianapolis Colts in Sunday afternoon NFL action and if you can't head to the U.S. to enjoy the game, you can still enjoy a tailgate party.

The game will be on the big outdoor screen at The Gaslight District. People can bring their own food (or buy some from a local business), drinks, grills and decorations.

The event is free and it runs rain or shine. After the Bills take on the Colts, the Eagles vs. Cowboys game will be on the screen.
