Podleski is part of the sister duo behind the cookbooks Looneyspoons, Crazy Plates and Eat, Shrink and Be Merry. She has also appeared on a number of television shows.
In a tweet, Podleski joked about her role in the annual parade.
"If people throw tomatoes at me, I'll just whip up a tasty sauce to serve over pork schnitzel for an Oktoberfeast," she wrote.
The K-W Oktoberfest parade will run down a new route this year. The entire parade route will be on Weber Street, from Frederick Street in Kitchener to Bridgeport Road in Waterloo.
The parade kicks off at the corner of Frederick Street and Weber Street on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
