Mayor says 90% of Guelph residents have had 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine
Cam Guthrie says this makes Guelph one of the most vaccinated cities in North America
Ninety per cent of eligible residents in Guelph have had at least one dose of the COVID-19, Mayor Cam Guthrie said.
"We hit 90 [per cent] first shot vaccinations, making us one of the most vaccinated cities in North America," Guthrie said in a tweet.
The mayor mentioned 12-year-old Erica and 94-year-old Hannah, both of whom he said helped the city "achieve this goal."
"I got my COVID vaccine so that we can all do things normally again," Erica said.
Guthrie also thanked Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health for their efforts in vaccination roll-out.
