Guelph thieves try to steal ATM but can't make withdrawal
Early Wednesday morning, some thieves tried to steal an ATM out of a building on Woodlawn Road West in Guelph, but had to abandon their attempt.
Early Wednesday morning, unknown suspects tried to steal an ATM out of a building on Woodlawn Road West in Guelph, but had to abandon their attempt.
The thieves were driving a stolen pickup truck that they used to smash the front doors of the building. But, according to a police news release, the damage was so bad that thieves couldn't take the ATM out and were forced to leave it, and the pickup truck behind, once the building alarm went off just after 3 a.m.
Police say the building sustained structural damage, estimated at $75,000.
The thieves drove away from the scene in a black car.
