Meet Beepbot, Guelph Public Library's new pint-sized robot
Beepbot was named by a 7-year-old named Kayla and the name was revealed Friday morning during Itty Bitty Storytime.
The new child-sized robot at Guelph Public Library has a name: Beepbot.
Earlier this year, the library asked children to name the new robot, which will help teach children digital literacy, math, coding and other life skills. The iPal robot can also dance, sing and make facial expressions.
The name was revealed Friday morning during Itty Bitty Storytime at the library's main branch downtown. The winning name was submitted by a seven-year-old named Kayla.
Meg Forestell-Page, the library's supervisor of programming and digital services, says the new robot will "ensure our community has access to the latest technologies. This is just one way that we are bridging the gap for our customers."
