'Bizarre' Guelph gets shoutout from actor Gerard Butler
Scottish actor says city's name is 'bizarre' in tweet with students
A group of students from Guelph convinced actor Gerard Butler to give a shoutout to their hometown.
The Grade 12 students are in New York City on a field trip. They're all enrolled in the Upper Grand District School Board's leadership development program called Beyond Borders. The students come from various secondary schools in the board.
On Thursday morning in New York City, they happened to bump into the Scottish actor, known for his roles in movies like 300, How to Train Your Dragon and The Bounty Hunter.
Butler tweeted a video of himself with the students and poked a little fun at The Royal City.
He also posted the video to his Instagram account.
That time I crashed a field trip. Have fun in NYC and safe travels when you head home to 🇨🇦. pic.twitter.com/rtDuh3tXLZ
