GRT customer service centre moves to corner of King and Benton
Customer service centre also expected to help with trip planning, Grand River Transit says
People looking to purchase bus passes or an EasyGo Fare card can now do so at the new location of Grand River Transit's customer service centre.
The centre is now located on 105 King St. E., at the corner of King Street and Benton Streets in downtown Kitchener.
"It's in close proximity to the Queen Station ... which travels toward Fairway Mall, and its complimentary station on Frederick Street, which travels to Conestoga Mall, is just a short walk to the new facility," said John Cicuttin, manager of transit development for the region.
The centre is set to open its doors on July 8. The move comes several weeks after the Charles Street terminal stopped operations on June 24.
At the centre, people will be able to purchase:
- Tickets for MobilityPLUS
- Passes for MobilityPLUS
- New EasyGO fare cards
- Reloading EasyGO fare cards
The centre will have staff available to help people plan their transit trips.
"If folks aren't as comfortable with the technology of online trip planning or on their phone and they're more comfortable talking to a person, we recommend they head over to the new location," Cicuttin said.
Transit maps as well as lost and found items will also be available at the customer service centre.
The new location will operate from 6:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 8:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
