FlixBus, which was founded in Germany, will start operating Ontario routes April 7
A new bus service launches in Ontario next month with stops in Waterloo, Kitchener, Guelph and Toronto.
FlixBus, which was founded in Germany, says it will offer free wifi and power outlets at every seat as the company expands into Canada following its success in the U.S. and Brazil.
As of April 7, FlixBus will offer daily service from Waterloo region and Guelph to Toronto corridor.
Stops include:
- The University of Waterloo.
- Downtown Kitchener.
- The Guelph bus station.
The company will also have routes headed between Niagara Falls and Toronto and there will be express service from Ottawa to Toronto.
"Ontario is a dream bus market with some of North America's most vibrant cities and we are immensely happy to begin building connections here," the company's North America managing director Pierre Gourdain said in a statement about the new routes.
"We also hope, the service will offer Ontarians a financial reprieve in a context of rising gas prices with a green mobility alternative to help riders rediscover this wonderful province."
The company plans to offer cross-border routes from Ontario to the U.S. this summer.
