Devastating St. Jacobs Market fire has community in shock

Members of the community in Waterloo Region are shocked to hear of the total destruction of the main building.

Fire has completely gutted the main building at the popular St. Jacobs Farmers Market.

"The main two-storey building is a total loss," said Deputy Chief Dale Martin.

"It'll be a big loss for the community."

The community took to social media as they responded to the blaze.

And CBC KW is continuing the conversation on air tomorrow.

We have two questions for you:

  1. What does St. Jacobs Farmers' Market mean to you?
  2. What can this community do now to help?

Tomorrow, starting at 7:30 a.m., call 519-581-1384 and talk with Craig Norris, the host of The Morning Edition live on-air at 89.1 FM.
