Communitech, and the University of Waterloo's Velocity startup incubator program, are expanding into the Google space at the Lang Tannery building.

Google, meanwhile, is moving nearby into new offices at the Breithaupt Block.

According to a release, this brings the total space for Communitech to 80,000 square feet, and Velocity to 36,000 square feet in the Tannery building.

Communitech says that means there's now space for 120 startups to work in the building.

The move also means that Velocity's separate hardware, software and life-sciences startups, which are currently in separate buildings, will be able to share the same space.
