The Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society is hoping to find the driver of a vehicle that dropped off a cat in the society's parking lot, then ran over the cat and left it to die earlier this month.
The humane society is hoping to find the driver involved and charges are possible
A cat was abandoned in the parking lot of the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society then run over by the car that released it, and left to die, staff at the animal shelter say.
Surveillance video shows a car driving into the society's parking lot at 2:47 a.m. on May 19. The cat was released from the car.
"The cat was subsequently run over and left to die," the humane society said in a release Thursday. "The body was found deceased by society staff upon opening Thursday morning."
Charges possible
The society wants to identify the driver and said animal cruelty charges are possible.
The society said the car involved is a later model two-door sedan that is dark in colour with flame decals on the front end.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
