Six people have been rushed to hospital after a vehicle crashed through the front doors of a Costco store in London, Ont.

A woman and her two young children are in critical condition and are among six people taken to hospital, including the driver of the car.

London police said the incident took place around noon.

Shoppers and store employees rushed to help those who had been mowed down by the car. Witnesses reported seeing a pregnant woman unconscious.

Tracy Carne, a Costco employee, was leaving the store just moments before the crash took place and recalls hearing a loud revving sound before a "waterfall of glass" came down.

Police said the car reversed and went through the front door, with the car ending up completely inside the store.

The store has been closed for the day as police continue to investigate the incident.

Police say charges are pending.
