Waterloo Regional Police and Ontario Provincial Police have found the body of a 24-year-old man from Wilmot Township who was reported missing on Monday.

Members of the OPP's under water search and recovery unit found the body of Andreas Pfenning while conducting a search of the Nith River Thursday afternoon.

"Officers focused on an area within a 1 kilometre radius of where it's believed Mr. Pfenning entered the water, and it was in this location where the body was found,"  Cherri Greeno media relations coordinator with the WRPS told CBC News.

Greeno said officers are waiting for a coroner to arrive on scene to determine the cause of death.

Pfenning was reported missing Monday after he left his home to go goose hunting and hadn't been seen since.

Over 100 people volunteered to search for Pfenning this past week.

"Our thoughts go out to the family of Mr.Pfenning as well as friends and all of the members of the community who took time and came out over the past few days," Greeno said.
