Pre-med program helps students prepare for medical school

All week on Daybreak we have been hearing about young science students who aren't making it into med school. They live in Kamloops and want to doctor in B.C. We travelled to Castlegar where a new program is preparing students to make the cut.

A program in Castlegar is preparing students to pass the tests that will get them into med school

Elizabeth Lund is the coordinator of the Rural Pre Med Prep program at Selkirk College in Castlegar. She is also a chemistry instructor. (Selkirk College)

It's not easy to get into medical school in B.C.

For every person accepted - ten others are turned away.

Elizabeth Lund is helping students beat those odds.

She is the coordinator of the Rural Pre Med Prep program  at Selkirk College in Castlegar.

It's the first of it's kind in Canada.
