The challenges faced by young people aging out of B.C.'s foster care system are well known.

At 19 years old, they're cut off from care, and according to the Vancouver Foundation, half end up on income assistance within six months.

This morning, Volunteer Kamloops is announcing a program to help those foster kids, by matching them up with volunteer experience and offering practical life skills.

Claire Conde and Debbie Hill are on the board of directors of Volunteer Kamloops.
