Lisa Hammond, president of the Hamilton-Wentworth Teacher local of the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO), stopped by CBC Hamilton's studio Thursday for a live noon-hour web chat.

During the hour-long online discussion, she took questions from the audience about the walkout her union has planned for Friday.

ETFO announced on Wednesday that its members would be staging a walkout Friday as a "one-day political action" in protest of the provincial government's decision to impose contracts on Ontario teachers.

As a result, the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board cancelled Friday classes and transportation for public elementary students.
