A classroom at St. Timothy Catholic Elementary School has closed because of a probable COVID-19 case.

Halton Catholic District School Board said in an email on Friday that public health thinks an individual at the school has the virus, but doesn't have a positive test result to prove it yet.

"Public Health have directed the individual and a cohort of close contacts to self-isolate. All staff and families were notified last night," wrote board spokesperson Andrea Swinden.

The school on Deer Run Avenue is still open.

The only other local probable school-related COVID-19 case at Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School in Hamilton.
