5 guns found in Hamilton home where landlord shot and killed 2 tenants, SIU says
Hamilton police, meanwhile, said officers have interviewed several witnesses, who have been cooperative
Ontario's police watchdog says it found five guns in the home where a Hamilton landlord shot and killed two tenants.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) investigates when police fire their guns at someone and incidents involving police that lead to death, serious injury or sexual assault.
After the landlord shot and killed 27-year-old Carissa MacDonald and 28-year-old Aaron Stone, he was in an hours-long standoff with police.
He died after a shootout with officers.
The SIU said it collected five guns from the home and a police-issued gun so the Centre of Forensic Sciences can examine them.
Police previously said the man had barricaded himself with several firearms registered to him.

The agency also said the landlord's autopsy occurred Tuesday and it won't be releasing the man's name as it needs consent from the man's family.
The SIU said it is probing eight officers, seven of whom were witnesses.
The agency didn't immediately answer questions from CBC Hamilton about how many have been interviewed.

The service added the victims's families are requesting privacy at this time.
