Hate-crime unit arrests 17-year-old after Pride crosswalk was vandalized, police say
The Hamilton police hate-crime unit announced on Wednesday that they have arrested a 17-year-old male in relation to vandalizing a Pride crosswalk. Police say on May 13, a young male spray painted the newly installed Pride Crosswalk in the area of Keeywadin Street and Parkside Drive in Waterdown.
Police say he was arrested for Mischief Under $5000
A 17-year-old male has been arrested by the Hamilton police hate-crime unit, police say, in connection to a Pride crosswalk being vandalized.
On May 13, police say a young male spray-painted the newly installed Pride crosswalk in the area of Keeywadin Street and Parkside Drive in Waterdown.
Police say he was arrested for Mischief Under $5000.
"As the charges are before the courts, no additional information will be released," said a news release.
Police asked community members who could assist with the investigation to contact the hate-crime unit.
