Hamilton man charged with manslaughter in shooting death of 17-year-old Myah Larmond

A 20-year-old man — Cadence Beauparlant — has been charged with manslaughter in relation to the shooting of 17-year-old Myah Larmond last year, police said.

Police satisfied all persons at house party at time of shooting have been identified

A 20-year-old man — Cadence Beauparlant — has been charged with manslaughter in relation to the shooting of 17-year-old Myah Larmond last year, police said.

Shortly after 4 a.m. on July 16, 2020, police responded to a 911 call on St. Matthews Avenue where five people were together inside a home for a social gathering when Larmond was shot. She later died in hospital.

Shortly after the incident, 21-year-old Devante Skye-Davis was charged with manslaughter. Since then, investigators have been working to identify one unknown male who fled the residence after the shooting.

On Friday police said this male has now been identified as Beauparlant of Hamilton. He appeared at the John Sopinka Courthouse and has been charged with manslaughter and unauthorized possession of a loaded firearm. 

At this time, police are satisfied that all persons at the house party at the time of the shooting have been identified.
