Library staff member tests positive for COVID-19 after visiting 9 branches last week
Employee was wearing protective equipment and maintaining distance, says HPL
Hamilton Public Library (HPL) says an employee has tested positive for COVID-19 after visiting nine branches late last week.
The branches include Binbrook, Central, Concession, Kenilworth, Mount Hope, Sherwood, Terryberry, Turner Park and Valley Park, all of which have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected "several times" since, the library says in a notice on its website.
HPL says the staff member who has the virus was wearing personal protective equipment and was physically distant from others during the stops they made on Thursday and Friday.
The employee tested positive on Monday.
"We wish our colleague a quick and full recovery," the library says.
The library is asking anyone who was at those branches on April 29 and 30 to consider booking a COVID-19 test and continue monitoring themselves for symptoms.
