Anita Krajnc charged with mischief

A woman who gave water to pigs on their way to a slaughterhouse now has a trial date set for August.
Anita Krajnc of Toronto had a preliminary hearing Monday and the Crown will decide later in December whether to proceed by summary conviction or indictment in the case.
Krajnc has been charged with mischief and faces a $5,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison.
She gave the pigs water through the slats of a trailer on June 22, after trucks hauling the animals stopped at an intersection in Burlington.
