An 18-year-old has been charged with stunt driving after police say they spotted him driving more than 100 kilometres over the speed limit.
Just after 2 p.m. on Sunday, Hamilton police were doing speed enforcement around Paramount Drive and Butternut Court.
It was a normal flow of traffic, police say, on a street where the limit is 40 kilometres per hour. Then the officer saw a vehicle speed past.
The officer clocked a 2009 C34 Mercedes at 141 kilometres per hour, police say. That's more than three times the posted limit.
Police impounded the vehicle for seven days after it was towed away.
The driver's licence was suspended. He will appear in court on charges of stunt driving and speeding.
