The 60-year-old Oakville man was taken into custody and is expected to appear for a bail hearing on Friday.
In December last year, police charged Khanna with one count of sexual assault. Since that time, three other women have come forward to police alleging they were also sexually assaulted by Khanna.
Also in December, provincial regulators suspended Khanna's mortgage broker license, alleging he carried out a "pattern of manipulation and exploitation" of his clients through his Metro Financial Planning Limited business. The regulator, Financial Services Commission of Ontario, is now seeking to have his license revoked.
On Thursday, Hamilton Police executed a search warrant at 193 King Street West downtown. It was in this office where Khanna operated his business.
Officers also executed a warrant at 1372 Bronte Road in Oakville, an address that public telephone listings suggest belongs to "D. Khanna."
Investigators are asking anyone with information related to any fraud occurrences involving Khanna, to contact Det. Kevin Dhinsa at 905-546-8932.
Officers are also asking anyone with information related to the sexual assault investigation but wish to remain anonymous to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
