Police identify Hamilton's 1st homicide victim of 2014

Marley Rowe, a 23-year-old man who was shot in the head on New Year's Day in east Hamilton, has become the city's first homicide victim of 2014.

Police have identified the 23-year-old man who was shot in the head on New Year's Day in east Hamilton as Marley Rowe. The young man is the city's first homicide victim of 2014.

Police say they were called to Sherman Avenue North and Barton Street East at approximately 4:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, where they found Rowe with a gunshot wound to the head.

Rowe was taken to the Hamilton General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are still investigating his death.

Investigators believe the victim was at a house party on Sherman Avenue North before he was shot. They want to speak to anyone who attended the party.
