Pharmacy robbery doubles 2014 numbers 4 months into year
Yet another pharmacy was robbed in the Hamilton area on Thursday police say, which doubles the amount of pharmacy robberies the city saw all last year.
According to police, around 12:15 p.m. Thursday, a man and a woman barged into a pharmacy in the area of Highway 5 and Hamilton Street in Waterdown and demanded narcotics.

There were no injuries, but the two people who police believe were in their 20s made off with a quantity of narcotics.
At 15 thefts, there have now been more pharmacy robberies in just four months of 2015 than in any of the previous four years.
Illegal use of prescription opioids is the city's fastest growing drug problem and one that is playing a growing role in thefts and petty crime as addicts seek drugs and money to feed their habits.
