Home sales, prices in Hamilton up again in November

New numbers from the Realtors Association of Hamilton-Burlington show a housing market especially favourable to sellers continued in November.

Home sales were up again in November, new numbers from the Realtors Association of Hamilton-Burlington show.

It was the second-highest November for residential sales in ten years, Realtors Association CEO Russ Godsoe said.

There were slightly more homes sold in November (1,096 sales) than sold in November 2013 (1,077 sales). Sales were also up compared to October and September. Godsoe proclaimed the "sellers' market" is continuing in Hamilton and Burlington.

Prices were up, too. The median price of all residential properties sold in November was $342,000, up 10 percent from the same month last year.

Homes took fewer days to sell. Freehold homes took an average of 40 days to sell, down from 46 last year, and condos sat on the market for an average of 39 days before selling, down from 49 days last year.
