Police say Helen Robertson was last seen at her Millcroft Park Drive residence in Burlington early afternoon on Tuesday July 5.

"We're not exactly sure where she's gone, how far," said Jeff, who along with his sister Jill and extended family members, has been searching since Tuesday.

"It is difficult when you don't know," he said. "That's probably the hardest part about it, it's unresolved."

Helen is described as a white, 5'2, 110 pounds with white, collar length hair and glasses.

Police released Friday morning that she is believed to be wearing non-matching running shoes, one a white and blue Nike high top, the other a white with silver Reebok.

The hardest part in the search for his mother, says Robertson, is not knowing what her capabilities are at any given time.

"I couldn't ask her to call home, because I don't think she'd be able to do that," he said. "It'd be nice if she reached out to us in some way, but I'm not sure how capable she is at this point."

"I just wish she was safe."

Helen Robertson has had Alzheimer's for about four years, her son estimates.

"It's a terrible disease. It ravages a person's being."

"My mother was a very intelligent person, very capable, and she's really declined," he said. "She's just a shadow of herself."

An extensive ground and aerial search included the assistance of the Durham Regional Police Service helicopter. Residents and community members are still being asked to check their properties.

Anyone with information on Robertson's whereabouts is asked to call Halton Police at 905-825-4747 Ext. 2305.
