Hamilton Police investigate after youth shot in eye with BB gun

A 17-year-old youth is recovering from minor injuries after he was shot in the eye with a BB gun while walking in downtown Hamilton.

Police are asking that witnesses come forward to provide information

A 17-year-old youth is recovering from minor injuries after he was shot in the eye with a BB gun while walking in downtown Hamilton.

On Friday, just after 11 p.m., Hamilton Police received a call about a male youth who had been a victim of a pellet gun attack ealier in the evening.

Officers said he was walking alone in the area of Tisdale Street North and King William Street at around 7 p.m. when he heard someone call out ot him to get his attention.

When he turned his head, the victim described three individuals with black coloured clothing riding bicycles, police said. One of the cyclists pulled out a black BB gun shot him in the face. 

The victim was unable to provide any further descriptions, police said, and its unclear if the suspects are male or female.

The 17-year-old received minor injuries and is expected to recover.
