Hamilton man charged after uploading child porn to Instagram: Police

Police have charged two Hamilton men with possession of child pornography — including one who allegedly uploaded the pornography to his Instagram account.

A 21-year-old faces charges of possessing, making available and accessing child pornography after an arrest on March 11.

The man had allegedly uploaded videos and images of child porn to Instagram. Someone notified the tip line Cybertips, which passed on the information to the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC). The NCECC notified Hamilton police, who searched his West 3rd Street home.

The investigation continues.

The arrest came a day after an unrelated case where a 44-year-old was charged with possession of child pornography.

Members of the internet child exploitation unit, along with patrol officers, seized devices from the home and found images and videos of child pornography.
