Hamilton cop arrested by OPP in off-duty domestic assault
A relatively rookie officer of the Hamilton Police Service was arrested by Ontario Provincial Police Wednesday and charged with domestic assault.
A relatively rookie officer of the Hamilton Police Service was arrested by Ontario Provincial Police Wednesday and charged with domestic assault.
At 34-years-old, the constable has been a member of Hamilton Police for 18 months.
On Wednesday, OPP arrested the officer as part of an off-duty domestic assault investigation. He was charged with two counts of assault and released on a promise to appear.
The officer, who was not named to conceal the identity of the victim, has been suspended with pay. He will appear in a Cayuga courthouse on August 19.
