There is no criminal investigation involved with the body found by hikers at The Devil’s Punchbowl Tuesday afternoon, police say.

Crews were called to the scene around 12:20 p.m. Police, fire and emergency crews were working to retrieve the man, police spokesperson Debbie McGreal-Dinning told CBC Hamilton.

"This is a non-criminal investigation," McGreal-Dinning said.

Fire information officer Bob Simpson said the man was found down by the base of the falls. "It won't be a difficult extraction," he said. "It's fairly level travel."
