At least 3 Hamilton homes raided by Toronto Police early Thursday

A Toronto Police raid targeting guns and gangs involved more than 40 search warrants across the GTA and Hamilton Thursday morning, including three Hamilton addresses. Toronto Police are calling the raid "Project Pharoah."

A Toronto Police raid targeting guns and gangs involved more than 40 search warrants across the GTA and Hamilton Thursday morning. Toronto Police are calling the raid "Project Pharoah." 

At least three of the addresses raided were in Hamilton, CBC News has confirmed. 

The raid took place around 5 a.m. Thursday. Toronto Police will be releasing more information about the raid later in the morning. 

The raid comes after 19 people, including three Hamiltonians, associated with the 'Ndrangheta criminal organization were arrested and charged with numerous offences early Tuesday.

The three Hamilton men implicated in that raid are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, while one was additionally charged with careless storage of a firearm and ammunition.
