Another suspected steroid lab raided Wednesday
Police have revealed a second illegal steroid lab in a Mountain home was raided Wednesday, where thousands of unidentified anabolic steroid pills alongside other illegal drugs were sized.
Kamil Krupinski, 26, and David Au, 27, both of Hamilton, have been charged with a combined six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of production of a controlled substance, says Ontario Province Police Det. Sgt. Scott Mills.
Police sized methamphetamine, LSD and oxycontin from Krupinski’s home at 56 Rupert Cres., near Upper Sherman Avenue and Stone Church Road East.
Mills described the quantity as small, but enough to be considered trafficking.
On Wednesday, police raided a pair of homes at 9 a.m. simultaneously as part of a multi-jurisdictional steroid investigation, related to a clandestine lab found on the mountain in late March.
“This is a concentrated effort on steroid importation and production in Ontario,” Mills said.
He said it’s unclear what specific steroids were sized, adding that while field tests exist for drugs like heroin and cocaine, illegal steroids need to be assessed by a lab to determine what their chemical makeup is.
