Thousands of votes have been cast, and it's time to reveal the top 10 Hamilton acts for the CBC's Searchlight competition to find the country's best new artist.
Here are the Hamilton finalists:
- SKINNER - 2nd and Broadway
- Shore Thing - Some People
- Jamie Shea - That's What I Would Do
- Chantal Barrette – Miners
- Gillian Nicola - Chasing The Wind
- Cops On Horses - I'm Not Steady
- Low Country Hill - Stay Up Here
- DBCooper - The Election
- Melissa Lynn - Play it Cool
- Devin Moody – Naomi
Over 100 Hamilton acts started out in the competition, and that list was whittled down by fan voting to these 10 acts.
The national winner will be announced live on q on May 15. That winner will get $20,000 in gear from Yamaha Canada Music and a gig at the CBC Music Festival in Toronto. You can listen to every Hamilton act on the Searchlight website.
Now that we've got a top 10, make sure you vote for your favourite as the contest rolls on and we barrel towards the finals. The polls open at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday and people can vote for five acts per day.
