3 more high school students in Hamilton have COVID-19
Ancaster High, Westmount Secondary and Bishop Tonnos each had a student with the virus
Three high school students in Hamilton have COVID-19.
Hamilton's public school board states it received word of an infected Westmount Secondary School student on Thursday.
"School administrators have notified all impacted families and staff members who are identified as a close contact. The students and staff members associated with the confirmed case will self-isolate for 14 days," reads a letter from principal Geeta Malhotra.
Malhotra added that this case had no links to previous cases in the school.
An Ancaster High student also tested positive for the virus, but was not in the building when they would have been infectious.
Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School also had a student contract the novel coronavirus.
They were last in school on Tuesday and one class has been closed as a result.
"Any students who are required to self-isolate will be contacted directly by Hamilton Public Health Services (HPHS)," read a letter from principal Carmelo Barone.
"Persons who test positive for COVID-19 may not return to school until they are cleared by HPHS."
