Shots fired into North End home for 2nd time in 3 weeks
Gunshots rang out downtown overnight, as someone fired bullets into a North End home.
Police say it's the second time the same house was hit by gunfire in just three weeks.
Investigators were called to a home in the area of Macaulay Street East and Mary Street around 1 a.m.
Police say shots were fired into the home while there were people inside.
"No one was injured at the time and a man was last seen running away from the area," a police news release reads.
Police say the first shooting incident at the home happened on April 17. No one was injured then, as well.
That shooting incident was not announced until today.
Police were also called for three different incidents nearby on Mary Street since December — twice, shots were fired into homes, and once, a car was torched.
Detectives say they have "no evidence at this stage" of the investigation that links the most recent shooting with any other crimes.
"Incidents such as these, where people choose to use violence or firearms in a residential community is serious and a concern for the community and the police," Const. Steve Welton said in an email.
"It is fortunate to report that no one was injured during this incident."
