Hamilton chiropractor charged with sexual assault: police
Police believe there could be more victims of Scott Huehn
A Hamilton chiropractor has been charged with sexual assault after allegations raised by two women.
Scott Huehn, 60, was arrested after a woman reported she was sexually assaulted by her chiropractor in the fall of 2015.
Officers with the sexual assault unit began an investigation and discovered another woman had reported being assaulted by Huehn in January 2016.
Information from both cases led to the arrest of the Dundas resident who has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.
College holding disciplinary hearing
A notice of hearing posted by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario alleges Huehn "sexually abused a patient" between Nov. 12, 2015 and Jan 12. 2016.
The document describes his alleged actions as "engaging in conduct or performed an act or acts, that ... would reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional."
A discipline hearing where both the college and Heuhn will both be able to argue their case was scheduled for June 25, according to Jo-Ann Willson, registrar and general counsel for the college, but it was adjourned and a new date has not been announced.
More victims possible
Willson said the fact that Huehn has been charged and that police believe a second patient was also assaulted was new information for her.
She added, generally speaking, when it comes to incidents involving sexual assault, the college will contact police and ask that limits to keep a chiropractor from seeing patients alone, or at all during their trial, be included as bail conditions.
Police believe there could be more victims and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Candace Culp of the Sexual Assault Unit at (905) 546-4846 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
