The Halton Regional Police Service is investigating after a Pride flag was stolen from a home in southeast Burlington, the latest in a string of such thefts.

The flag was taken on June 4 around 5:30 p.m., according to a police media release.

"This theft comes after a series of similar thefts of Pride flags from lawns in Burlington earlier this month," it reads. "Previously 11 flags were stolen from nine houses. Six of those flags have been returned with an apology note."

Police said the suspects have not been identified and investigators haven't been able to confirm whether or not the incidents are linked.

Police said they are committed to fully investigating the thefts and finding those responsible, adding that, "Hate and division have no place in Halton."

Investigators are asking anyone who has CCTV and or dashcam footage in the area from around the date and time of the most-recent theft, or anyone with information regarding these investigations, to contact them.
