Brantford police investigate vandalism at Pride crosswalk, mayor is 'devastated, and disappointed'

Brantford police are looking for a white Chevrolet Silverado Z71 with a black truck bed tool box after a Pride crosswalk was vandalized.

Robin Matthews-Osmond, a Brantford police spokesperson, said the report of the vandalized crosswalk at Market Street and Colborne Street came in on June 17 at roughly 7:49 p.m.

Matthews-Osmond said the investigation is active.

An image shared by Brantford mayor Kevin Davis showed what appeared to be skid marks on the crosswalk.

"I am devastated, and disappointed that this vandalism has taken place at the newly installed Pride Crosswalk. I want to make it clear that I will not stand for this discrimination and hate," he said.

"Please be assured that police are reviewing video footage, and those involved will be held accountable."
