Bike to work day kicks off a month of cycling
Hamiltonians to ride bikes on Monday to begin Bike Month
Get to work on two wheels on Monday, and you'll be joining hundreds of fellow Hamiltonians cycling in to work to reduce air pollution and traffic congestion and to get exercise.
A student parade to city hall and an awards ceremony will all take place as part of the day's celebrations.
Events at city hall run from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Monday also marks the launch of a pilot program that will allow cyclists to take an HSR bus up or down the escarpment for free.
The Mountain Climber Program allows cyclists to take a bus to travel up or down James Mountain Hill on the Route 20 - A Line, Route 21- Upper Kenilworth, Route 33 - Sanatorium, or Route 35 - College.
Cyclists should wait at one of the marked stops at the top or bottom of James Mountain Road.
The city is encouraging people to register online for a chance to win a variety of prizes.
Mayor Fred Eisenberger and City Manager Chris Murray, along with councillors, will all be on their bikes at City Hall Monday morning to kick off the month.
"You should ride to work as well because it's good for your health," said Eisenberger in a video message.
