Walking in your work boots ... or sneakers or heels! Tell your story through this new writing workshop
Join our free writing workshop at the public library and tell your story to the world
Sorry, this workshop is now full. But don't worry. We'll post about new opportunities across the city soon!
Email elise.stolte@cbc.ca to be put on a list to be notified when these come up. We'd also love your recommendations for new themes and community-based partners.
Are you frontline or back-of-house? Do you work in a warehouse, on a scaffold, in a daycare or cubical? Maybe you've got a side hustle that brings you joy.
Shift work or shifting work — no matter where you punch the clock, you've got a story to tell. And we want to hear it.
Come and join a CBC Calgary writing workshop, hosted with help from the Calgary Public Library. You don't have to be a professional writer, and don't worry if you think your English isn't great. We're here to help!
In these four in-person evening workshops, we will take you through the process of writing your story. We'll even have special guests to share their writing experiences. We'll cover everything from where to begin, how to use key anecdotes and when a splash of colour can make your story come alive.
Best of all, it's free.
Join us Tuesday evenings in August at the Quarry Park Library branch, accessible by bus and just off the Deerfoot in south Calgary. Pre-register below.
You'll get to work with CBC Calgary editor Elise Stolte for one-on-one feedback. By the end, you'll have a rough draft to be proud of, and can even pitch your story to cbc.ca/calgary as one of our special First Person stories.
Questions? Email elise.stolte@cbc.ca.
This is part of a series of writing workshops we'll be offering across the city. Check out all the opportunities here. And don't feel hemmed in by these themes — they're just a suggestion. Come on out and share your story.
