Woman charged in death of teen pushed into train's path

Police have charged a 25-year-old woman with second-degree murder in the death of a teenager pushed into the path of a C-Train in Calgary's downtown core.

Natalie Michelle Pasqua was arrested Sunday atan Edmonton residence and taken into custody without incident following acomplaintthat someone was spraying graffiti on a building, Calgary police said Monday.

Shewas charged with mischief and obstruction of justice "stemming from an incident" in Edmonton,police said in a news release.

After Calgary investigators arrived later that day, police said she was charged with second-degree murderinconnection to the incident at a Calgary train platform where Gage Jeffery Prevost was pushed under a train during an altercation.

"We knew we'd arrest her sooner or later," said Det. John Dooks with the Calgary Police Service. "We just hoped it would be sooner."

Prevost, 17, died instantly of massive internal injuries after being pushedbetween the cars ofa moving train at adowntown transit station on Aug. 1.

Earlier this month, Calgary police had been looking for Pasqua on outstanding warrants for possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear. Police said at the time that Pasqua "may also have information" about Prevost's death.

Pasqua is scheduled to appear in a Calgary court Friday on the second-degree murder charge.
