Calgary's long-anticipated southwest ring road will get a First Nations name: Tsuut'ina Trail.
Alberta's transportation department confirmed the name of new roadway on Wednesday.
The $2.2-billion freeway is expected to be finished in 2021.
Under terms of the deal with the Alberta government, the Tsuut'ina First Nation was paid $275 million and received new land west of the existing reserve in exchange for land the province will use to complete Calgary's ring road.
