Thwarted painkiller bandits settle for Viagra
Police are searching for two men who robbed a Calgary drugstore at gunpoint on Tuesday, demanding Oxycontin but settling for erectile dysfunction drugs.
The thieves — one armed with a handgun — entered the Shoppers Drug Mart at 7740 18th St. S.E. at about 10:50 a.m., police said.
When the pharmacist told them the store didn't have any of the high-potency painkiller, the suspects left with Viagra and Cialis pills instead, police said.
The suspects left the scene in a stolen white Ford F-250 pickup truck. It had Alberta license plate MCY-215, police said.
Both men were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered with scarves and masks.
The suspects are in their 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with average to slim builds. They were also carrying a black bag, police said.
