The skies cried over Calgary on Friday...

... drenching heaps of flowers, cards and candles left by mourners in front of the apartment that Taliyah Marsman, 5, and her mother once called home.

Sara Baillie, 34, was found dead in the home she was renting in Panorama Hills in Calgary late Monday.

"It's really devastating," said neighbour Gloria Munoz, as she choked back tears.

Munoz lives just down the block from where Baillie's body was found, sparking a desperate search for her daughter.

On Thursday night, Calgary police announced they had found a body believed to be that of five-year-old Taliyah Leigh Marsman.

"Just the saddest thing I've ever experienced," said neighbour Tania Koloff, pictured here with her son Liam and husband Mike.

RCMP and police combed rural properties east of Calgary late into the night on Thursday, searching for evidence in the case.

They later discovered the little girl's body by a roadside.

Since then, the memorial outside the mother and daughter's home continues to grow.
