The city's annual spring street cleaning operation officially gets underway on Monday.

  • The 2015 schedule is posted on the city's interactive map at Calgary.ca.

The clean-up is scheduled to be complete just in time for Stampede week.

"We are asking all Calgarians to help make the city a beautiful place to live by doing their part ― don't litter and move vehicles or carts from the street when sweeping is scheduled," the city said in a release.

Warm weather has given city crews the chance to pre-sweep some of the 15,000 km of roadways that need cleaning.

The city also asks that people who sweep up leftover gravel and debris double bag the loads and keep the bags under 20 kg for the safety of garbage collectors.
