Man charged after paramedics revive driver of stolen car with Naloxone following crash
Jean-Paul Boutin facing charges of possessing stolen property, driving under influence of drugs
A man is now facing charges after a crash involving a stolen car injured six people and forced paramedics to use the anti-opioid drug Naloxone on the driver.
The crash happened between a white GMC van and a red Mazda sedan about 4:30 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Marlborough Way N.E.
The driver of the Mazda, which was stolen, was found unconscious when emergency crews arrived and paramedics administered the drug Naloxone, which is used to treat overdoses from opioids — including fentanyl.
The driver was taken to hospital in serious condition.
Jean-Paul Boutin, 36, is now charged with two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and one count of driving while impaired by drugs.
A female passenger was also taken to hospital in serious condition.
Four other people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.
Police say more charges could be laid.
